Not a great way to start the morning...

So I was just perusing Facebook when I came across a story about a little boy named Easton who suffers from a condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa. It's a skin condition which causes horrible painful destruction of the skin. His mother is unable to hold him, and he must spend all his time wrapped up in bandages. The news anchor reporting the story said and I quote..."there is no cure for the disase and because it turns up in 1 of every 50,000 live births there is very little incentive for major medical corporations to invest in researching a cure..." VERY LITTLE INCENTIVE?! You've gotta be kidding me. That 1 in 50,000 is a human being, a life! I would think that an infant suffering unbearable pain just from being held by his mother would be plenty incentive. How many other rare diseases are being sidestepped because of this kind of thing?!
Sometimes I wonder if healthcare is really where I want to be...

Anyway, my rant is over. Let us hope that the rest of my day is all sunshine and rainbows and shit. I don't do well with angry...
